Estate tax: Obama resurrects familiar concerns

President-elect Barack Obama and Senate Democrats say they want to lock in the estate tax at its current rate and exemption level — 45 percent, with estates of $3.5 million ($7 million for couples) exempt. They say the wealthiest Americans already have benefited from the Bush-era tax cuts and that the government needs death tax revenue as it tries to engineer an economic recovery.
