Eternal flame to be relocated Published: June 6, 2013

CLAREMORE -- Since 1971, the eternal flame has burned at the Rogers County Courthouse in Claremore, symbolizing fallen veterans' eternal life.

Friday, the flame will be temporarily relocated as plans move ahead for a new courthouse.

In a ceremony involving the Claremore High School NJROTC, a hand torch will be lit as the flame is extinguished.

The Claremore Daily Progress reports the torch will be moved to another site until the final location is built.
