Chills ran down my arms when the announcer shouted Desmond Mason’s name.

• The song "Thunderstruck” by AC/DC needs more play. As I’ve said before, you can never have too much of that.
• I shouldn’t be a coach. In my opinion, Clippers head coach Mike Dunleavy should have taken a timeout in the last exciting seconds of the game and said this: "All right, guys, you’ve played a good game, but let the Thunder win. I mean, it’s their first home game in franchise history. Everybody came to see them and cheer on the new team. Preseason doesn’t really count. Pretend like you’re trying, but let’s give this one to the new guys.” Fans should stay to the end of the game. If you have a legitimate reason to leave early, that’s fine. If you want to beat the traffic, that’s lame.
• I can’t wait for the real season kickoff Oct. 29. I already have tickets in the cheap seats. I need to buy a Desmond Mason shirt. Now.

I don't know if you read about the Jarboe situation here, but when it was announced he would play for OU, fans went nuts, his detractors spoke out and the rabid fans said "give the kid a chance, it was only a loaded stolen handgun he got caught with on high school property"...after his rap video surfaced about his desire to kill people, he got the boot and the formerly rabid OU fans thought he was nothing more than a worthless bum.....this is that way things go here. Wait until another OU player gets arrested for something and watch how quickly OU fans point fingers at what OSU players do.....
For anybody that thought this was a yokel state, this ought to solidify it in their minds....
Where do some of these writers come up with this drivel anyway? Talk about hokey, but it fits this city/state.....
First, you have to remember that Tuesday night's game was essentially a "soft-opening." Yes, the teams and the fans were there, but it was neither the starting 5 or the production that we'll see during the grand opening on Oct. 29.
And as far as anybody letting us win - no thanks, I say.
