DETROIT (AP) — A 3-day Detroit showcase planned this week aims to explore how seven artists work in both fine art and electronic music.

Synesthesia kicks off Tuesday at the Red Bull House of Art in the city's Eastern Market. It's a collaboration of the Red Bull Music Academy and Movement Electronic Music Festival that's being staged before the festival.

Organizers say collections of new and existing visual bodies of work influenced by the music the artists create are expected to be displayed. Artists also plan to perform abstract, live and DJ-based sets.

The artists are Tadd Mullinix, Jeff Risk, Sterling Toles, Zachary Shigeto Saginaw, Benjamin Kenjiro Saginaw, Ron Zakrin and Matthew Hawtin.
