Everyone favors gun control at some level
Anyone who thinks it should be unlawful for parents to allow their children to play with guns, loaded or unloaded, favors gun control at least at that level. Anyone who thinks it should be unlawful for a neighbor to set up a .50-caliber machine gun aimed at another neighbor's house favors gun control at least at that level. Anyone who thinks it should be unlawful for students at any level to carry guns on campus or at proms, sporting events or other school functions, favors gun control at least at that level.

The point is, everyone favors gun control at some level. Lumping those of us who favor reasonable gun control in with left-wing, anti-Second Amendment zealots is paranoid. Their motto of “If you take away our guns, only criminals will have guns” is a manifestation of that paranoia. Nobody is advocating taking away everyone's guns.
