District Judge John Canavan Jr. said a trial date will be set during an Aug. 7 hearing for Kimberly Crain, of Shawnee, and Gary Doby, of Bloomsburg, Pa.

Both have been charged with 18 counts of sexual exploitation of a child under 12 and one count of conspiracy to commit sexual exploitation. Crain, 49, also is charged with one count of lewd molestation and 11 counts of possession of juvenile pornography.

Pottawatomie County prosecutors allege Crain, a former teacher in the McLoud school district, took photos of as many as 14 young girls while they were changing clothes in her classroom and at her home, then shared the images with Doby, a 66-year-old retired professor.

In May, nine students testified at a preliminary hearing that Crain took photos of them in her classroom and during a pizza party at her home while they were wearing tank tops and underwear. The girls also were videotaped naked while changing clothes, prosecutors said.

At the end of the proceeding, Special Judge Dawson Engle ordered both to stand trial.

If convicted, Crain and Doby could face up to life in prison.
