Ex-OU sprinter falls at Olympics

Former Oklahoma sprinter Laverne Jones-Ferrette’s was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the women’s 200-meter dash at the Olympics on Tuesday. The Virgin Islands native finished seventh in the first heat with a time of 23.37.

Former OU runner Aldwyn Sappleton begins competition for Jamaica in the men’s 800-meter run on Wednesday, while ex-Sooner Michael Blackwood runs Friday as a member of Jamaica’s 4x400-meter relay.

Thanks, Mike, I realized that after looking at the headline a second time. I guess I was thinking about the hurdlers that actually did fall and was looking for something like that.
