BARTLESVILLE — A former Delaware County middle school principal was arrested in Bartlesville for refusing to pay a $94.97 restaurant tab, police confirmed Friday.
Roger Shane Carroll, 40, of Eucha, was arrested Tuesday night on complaints of defrauding a restaurant and resisting and obstructing a police officer.
Carroll is the former Jay Middle School principal who resigned June 30 following a fatal boat crash the previous summer on Grand Lake.
The manager of Buffalo Wild Wings told police that Carroll and three other men came into the restaurant and ordered food. Carroll refused to pay the bill and told the manager he would report the restaurant was selling beer to minors if the manager called police, according to a municipal affidavit.
Carroll left the restaurant, and police found him at a motel, the affidavit states. Police told Carroll the restaurant manager “just wanted him to sign his debit card receipt,” according to the affidavit. Carroll began to curse the police officer. He refused to sign the receipt, answer questions or reveal the names of the men who were with him, the affidavit states.
