Exercising and staying fit may slow the progress of Alzheimer's disease, researchers say.
"This offers hope for all of us,” said Jeffrey Burns, a neurologist at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. "Exercise is cheap. Everybody can do it.” About 5.2 million Americans have Alzheimer's. By 2050, that number could swell to to 16 million. But if ways can be found to postpone Alzheimer's by even two years, nearly 2 million cases could be avoided. Newswise
