My taxi cab driver was a convivial Bob Marley doppleganger, and was a native of St. Maarten. I was delighted to discover his penchant for Reggae and he informed me he was quite a famous singer back on the islands.
As enjoyable as our conversation was, I was excited to see the bustling cruise port and the Noordam beckoning to me in the distance and I was anxious to get my sea legs about me.
One of the things I’ve been talking about with my Explore the Awesome in Your Life adventures is to do what you need to do to feel your best when you travel. Unfortunately I didn’t follow my own advice. I’m hypoglycemic and in my excitement and haste didn’t eat from the time I got up this morning until the time I boarded the ship. I was pretty shaky the rest of the evening.
After I settled into my room, I ventured out and located one of the restaurants, feasting on salmon, green beans, zucchini and ice cream. It is my personal opinion that ice cream is a necessity in one’s diet. Afterward, I set about perusing the ship like a kid in a candy store, exploring every detail of this curious place.
I quickly located the gym, which amazingly it overlooks the ocean with a splendid and breathtaking view. It’s probably as close as you’ll get to running or walking on water. I’ve also found the swimming pools, more restaurants, places to shop and the spas.
There’s really no need to get off the ship to have a great time. I’ve having a ball and tomorrow allows for a full day at sea when I’ll be doing a little R&R, getting into my fitness routine and doing a lot more exploring on the ship.
