Exploring with Happy’s Christmas Train ~ Supporting Operation Christmas Child

All aboard!  All aboard!  Christmas time’s a comin’ and Exploring with Happy has partnered once again with the Arkansas Missouri Railroad to present “The Second Annual Exploring with Happy Christmas Train”.  Proceeds from the Christmas train go to benefit the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child program.

Since 1993, more than 100 million boys and girls in over 130 countries have experienced God’s love through the power of simple shoebox gifts from Operation Christmas Child.  Samaritan’s Purse works with local churches and ministry partners to deliver the gifts and share the life-changing Good News of Jesus Christ.

The Exploring with Happy Christmas train is an opportunity to make magical memories with the entire family, while raising money for Christmas gifts for children throughout the world.  Many of the children who receive the shoebox gifts have never received a Christmas gift before.

Two Christmas trains will be running on Saturday, November 30th.  The lunch train departs at 11:00 a.m. and the dinner train departs at 5:00 p.m.  Both excursion trains travel to Winslow, Arkansas, roundtrip and last around 2 ½ hours.  Families are encouraged to wear pajamas for the train and free family photos and Santa photos will be available.

The A&M Railroad bedecks each train car in Christmas finery and the excitement aboard is uncontainable.  While 1st class and the Vista Dome cars offer a delicious dinner with Chicken Cordon Bleu as the main course, the velvety seats of the coach passenger cars offer a Polar Express style experience with Christmas cookies, hot chocolate, entertainment and sing-a-long Christmas songs.

The 1st class and Vista Dome seats are limited and sell out quickly, so this year a boxed lunch and dinner car have been added and passengers will enjoy delicious gourmet sandwiches and Christmas cupcakes.

The Clark family will be presenting the Christmas story live on each train car this year and providing musical entertainment, as well.

Si Robertson from the Duck Dynasty family has even teamed up with Operation Christmas Child to get the word out about packing shoeboxes to share God’s love.  You can be a part of this special ministry by packing your own shoebox and delivering it to a collection location or participating church in your area.
