An early morning explosion at a Sweetwater plant rattled the area and still was burning Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

The explosion occurred about 2 a.m. Sunday, a Beckham County Sheriff's Office dispatcher said. No injuries were reported.

Investigators think the explosion was caused by a frozen valve, and one of two oil tanks there exploded, the dispatcher said.

Fire officials are allowing a second tank to burn out, and they are monitoring the fire Sunday afternoon.

Sweetwater Fire Department, Sayre Fire Department and Beckham County sheriff's deputies responded to the fire east of Sweetwater near State Highway 152 and County Road 1110.

The name of the plant was not released.
