Charles Richard Thompson, 33, suffered a hole in his abdomen and lost a finger after the pipe bomb he was building blew up in his lap Sunday, reports show.
Officers inspecting the damage also found the makings of a methamphetamine lab, drug paraphernalia and weapons, Sheriff Charles Pearson said.
Thompson underwent several hours of surgery Sunday and remained in intensive care Tuesday, officials with OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City said.
