Oklahoma City police found an explosive device Monday inside a car at a northwest Oklahoma City apartment complex.

Capt. Dexter Nelson said police detained a person for questioning, but a name was not released.

Officers were called Monday afternoon to the Cypress Ridge Apartments, 1209 W Hefner Road, in reference to a stalking call, police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow said.

An officer was walking around the complex and saw a suspicious device inside a car and ordered parts of the complex to be evacuated, Wardlow said.

Hefner Road also was closed to traffic for much of the afternoon.

Nelson said the bomb squad removed the device.

“We do have an explosive device,” Nelson said. “The device is going to be taken to our disposal range.”
