Hunger in Oklahoma
The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma distributed more than 47 million pounds of food last year and currently provides enough food to feed 90,000 Oklahomans each week, according to its website. Nearly half are children.
One in four children in Oklahoma struggles with hunger every day.
The online charity-ranking organization Charity Navigator ranks the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma as one of the best charitable organizations nationwide, giving it a perfect score for accountability and transparency. The organization earns four out of four stars for overall operations.
The Food Bank's website explains that more than 96 cents of each dollar goes to providing food to hungry Oklahomans.
