— A variety of musical acts will fill the air Sunday nights for the city's 2011 Fall Concert Series.

The free outdoor concert series kicked off Sunday with a performance by the group Straight Shooter. Concerts are scheduled each Sunday through Oct. 16 at the Mitch Park Amphitheater, 2733 Marilyn Williams Drive. Performances are from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m.

“We are just trying to create another environment for people to enjoy, and it is free,” said Diane Self, Edmond's recreation program manager. “We are going to have beautiful weather. Everyone can see, and it is a great view.”

People are encouraged to bring snacks, nonalcoholic beverages, blankets and lawn chairs
