Oklahoma soldier’s body returns to Lawton
LAWTON — The body of a Lawton soldier who was killed in Afghanistan returned home Wednesday.
Staff Sgt. Travis M. Tompkins, 31, died last week after his unit was attacked by insurgents with a rocket-propelled grenade.
Tompkins’ flag-draped casket arrived about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday on a small jet at Henry Post Army Airfield at Fort Sill.
