Oklahoma soldier’s body returns to Lawton

Staff Sgt. Travis M. Tompkins, of Lawton, OK, died last week in Afghanistan.

LAWTON — The body of a Lawton soldier who was killed in Afghanistan returned home Wednesday.

Staff Sgt. Travis M. Tompkins, 31, died last week after his unit was attacked by insurgents with a rocket-propelled grenade.
