"He was kind of a legend ... he was around Edmond forever."
Darla Laughlin
She and her children never knew
Dwite A. Morgan, Edmond’s homeless man known as Bicycle Bob. But, like hundreds of people in Edmond, Laughlin wanted to do something for him after he was killed earlier this month.
Morgan’s body was found Oct. 18, stabbed and beaten in his outside make-shift home downtown. He was buried Monday in the city’s Gracelawn Cemetery after members of the community donated services and items for his funeral.
Laughlin asked her dad,
Max Warren, owner of
Warren Monument Co. in Guthrie, to donate a headstone for Morgan’s grave, which is next to his grandmother’s.
"He was kind of a legend,” Laughlin said. "I didn’t really know him, but he was around Edmond forever.”
Laughlin and her sister,
Debbie Robertson, who also works at the monument company, designed the headstone, which of course will be engraved with a bicycle.
