Family of Oklahoma teenager killed by off-duty cop files protective order against key witness

The family of a teenager shot to death last month by an off-duty Tulsa police officer has been granted a protective order against one of the key witnesses in the case, court records show.


Pamela Wilkins, aunt of Jeremey Lake, was granted a protective order against Joshua Mills on Friday. Mills was interviewed by the Tulsa World the day Lake, 19, was killed, saying he held the teenager is his arms as Lake died.


Wilkins told the Tulsa World that Mills and his wife had been living in the family's backyard in a tent after Lake, who also lived at the home, had met them and invited them to stay with the family.
