TULSA — A national mental health symposium kicks off in Tulsa Wednesday, Sept. 19, with a special ceremony to dedicate a home for Gaylia Patrick and her family.
Patrick, whose family was affected by mental illness, will receive the home at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at 2215 N Norfolk Ave. in Tulsa during the eighth National Zarrow Mental Health Symposium & Mental Health American Annual Conference. A partnership between the Tulsa Habitat for Humanity, the Mental Health Association in Tulsa and Mental Health America led to the home's construction for the Patricks.
The mental health conference, with a theme of “From Housing to Recovery — Building Community, Building Lives,” runs through Friday at the Tulsa Convention Center.
