Fan poll: Vote for the Fans' Choice Football Player of the Week

After a winter storm created a week off, high school football returned this week with five state champions being crowned and three title games set for next week.

With just 11 games, The Oklahoman has decided to pick a top performer from each game.

Now fans can vote for the one they feel was the best.

The Fans’ Choice Football Player of the Week poll is live online at

Pick one of the selections from the poll below, or write in your own candidate in the comments section, where you can tell us why your choice deserves Player of the Week honors.

Due to some games being Saturday, voting now ends at 4 p.m. Wednesday and the results of the poll will appear in Thursday’s Oklahoman.

Here are the candidates:

Cameron Batson, Millwood: Quarterback rushed for 215 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing one, during the Falcons’ 24-9 win against Hartshorne in the Class 2A semifinals.

Kai Callins, Guthrie: Senior running back rushed for 230 yards and four touchdowns and came up with a big interception during the Bluejays’ 51-21 rout of McAlester to win their second Class 5A title in three years.

Tanner Ducotey, Cherokee: Running back rushed for 275 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Chiefs in a 38-14 rout of Tipton for the Class C championship.

Gunnar Ewing, Hollis: Ewing was unstoppable for Hollis, rushing for two touchdowns and grabbing an interception on defense during the Tigers’ 25-0 win against Apache.

Trevor Harris, Laverne: Harris was electric Saturday, rushing for 297 yards and four touchdowns during the Tigers’ 42-12 Class B title victory against Pond Creek-Hunter for a second straight title.

Landon Nault, Kingfisher: Senior was all over the field Friday, scoring two touchdowns, forcing a fumble and recovering a different fumble in the Yellowjackets’ 32-14 win against Seminole in the Class 3A semifinals.

Steven Parker, Jenks: State’s top recruit dominated on both sides of the ball during the Trojans’ 38-22 win against Tulsa Union for the Class 6A title, catching five passes for 164 yards and a TD along with a back-breaking interception late in the fourth.

Mykel Shaw, Anadarko: Senior had a fumble recovery, interception return for a touchdown and a receiving touchdown during the Warriors’ 40-0 rout of Poteau in the Class 4A championship game.

Slade Stewart, Ringling: Running back scored two of the Blue Devils’ four touchdowns, finishing with 149 yards on 22 carries, in the 26-18 victory against Talihina during the Class A semifinals.

Braden Stringer, Blanchard: Senior scored the game-winning touchdown and finished with 152 yards and two touchdowns in the Lions’ 20-17 win against Plainview in the Class 3A semifinals.

Blake Summers, Davis: Quarterback rushed for 209 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing a TD, in the Wolves’ 49-21 win against Vian in the Class 2A semifinals.
