Authorities reported the deaths of two people Tuesday in traffic accidents on state roads.

John T. McCormick, 73, Afton

About 2:20 p.m., McCormick was driving on State Highway 28, three miles east of Adair, when he fell asleep and his pickup left the road and struck a tree head-on, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. McCormick was wearing a seat belt.

Unidentified person

A person died about 2:40 a.m. on NE 10 at Vickie Lane in Oklahoma City when an eastbound vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a westbound vehicle head-on, authorities said. The passenger in the westbound vehicle was killed, Oklahoma City police Master Sgt. Gary Knight said.
