Fate of historic Ardmore building remains uncertain

ARDMORE -- It was home to Colvert's Dairy Products for half a century.

It supposedly was going to be home to a social services center.


Now, it sits vacant, except for birds and maybe another animal or few that ihabit its three floors.

What will happen to the Colvert's Dairy Products Building is to be decided, the Daily Ardmoreite reports.

The building, completed in 1923, was vacated in the 1970s.

Years later, the Ardmore Development Authority, with a vision of an Ardmore Community Resources Center, looked at buying it.

The city and the development association were awarded grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

But between the time the grants were awarded and the development association took possession, plans changed.
