Fatigue catches up with Cowboys against Mizzou

Oklahoma State looked tired on its third straight night on the court, showing signs of a hangover from an epic Bedlam win on Thursday night. The Cowboys shot the ball terribly, turned it over 17 times and fell 67-59 to Missouri on Friday night in the semifinals of the Big 12 Tournament.

The Tigers will play Baylor in today’s championship game.

"Tonight if we were making shots you don’t think about being tired,” OSU coach Travis Ford said. "But when you miss as many shots as we did, yeah, you think about being tired.”

When the Big 12’s two most prolific offenses met at the Ford Center on Friday night, everyone expected a high-scoring, up-and-down affair — both teams averaged 81.8 points heading into the game, and they combined for 192 points in Stillwater earlier this year — but fatigue started to show amid one of the Cowboys worst shooting nights.

The Cowboys (22-11) missed 16 straight 3-pointers before Obi Muonelo finally hit a shot from beyond the arc with just over six minutes to play. OSU shot just 36 percent from the floor and 16.7 percent from 3-point range.

"It definitely affects us when we’re not making 3s,” Marshall Moses said. "That’s a big part of what we do.
