LONDON (AP) — Tottenham has signed Argentina defender Federico Fazio from Spanish side Sevilla on a four-year deal.
The Premier League club announced the signing on Wednesday without disclosing the fee, which is reported in the British media to be 8 million pounds ($13.25 million).
Fazio will provide added competition at center back, where Spurs already have Jan Vertonghen, Younes Kaboul, Eric Dier and Vlad Chiriches. Michael Dawson moved to Hull on Tuesday.
Fazio has played two games for Argentina and made 194 appearances for Sevilla since 2007.
