CABOT, Ark. (AP) — The FBI is investigating after someone intentionally cut down a power line in Cabot, sending the line crashing to the ground and shutting down traffic for several hours.

Entergy Arkansas reported the downed transmission line Wednesday on Arkansas 321 east of Cabot. No one was injured and no power outages were reported, but the highway was closed to traffic for several hours.

The FBI says someone apparently climbed the 100-foot tower and used a saw or similar device to sever the power line. The person or persons also removed several bolts from the base of the tower.

The FBI says that although no one was hurt, the incident posed a potential danger to the community.

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI.
