FBI now searching for wanted Marlow man
Charles Alan Dyer, 31, failed to appear for trial in Stephens County on Aug. 15 and is wanted by the FBI, authorities said.
MARLOW — A Marlow man accused of child sexual abuse failed to appear in court for his trial and is now wanted by the FBI.
Charles Alan Dyer, 31, was scheduled to appear at Stephens County courthouse Aug. 15, but did not show up.
Dyer is not thought to be in Oklahoma, and is wanted by the FBI on a count of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, FBI Special Agent Clay Simmonds said. Dyer is known to have numerous weapons and should be considered armed and dangerous, he said.
An arrest warrant was issued with a bail amount of $500,000, according to court records.
Dyer was acquitted of a federal charge of knowingly possessing an unregistered grenade launcher in April 2010. The weapon was found in his Marlow home during the rape investigation, but Dyer testified that he thought it was a flare gun. Federal agents later determined the grenade launcher was one of three stolen at a California military base from a shipment of military equipment bound for Iraq.
Dyer has said he is a member of Oath Keepers, an organization his attorneys described as “dedicated to the protection of constitutional rights.” But the group's founder has said Dyer was not a dues-paying member.
Anyone with information should call 911 or call the FBI at (800) 225-5324.
