Show studies heroine roles
“Wonder Women! The Untold Story of American Superheroines” traces the evolution and legacy of Wonder Woman. The story follows from the birth of the comic book superheroine in the 1940s to the blockbusters of today, and looks at how representations of powerful women often reflect society's anxieties. Lynda Carter, Lindsay Wagner and Gloria Steinem will appear. The show airs at 9 p.m. Monday on OETA.
Events aid cleanup
Throughout April, volunteers can get involved in a litter cleanup in their community by signing up through OKC Beautiful. As part of LitterBlitz Month, OKC Beautiful will provide bags, plastic gloves, bottled water and safety tips to any group that signs up to clean a neighborhood, street or park. For those who want to get involved but are unsure where to start, OKC Beautiful will recommend areas with high amounts of litter. For more information about OKC Beautiful or to sign up for a LitterBlitz event, call Melissa Brodt, programs manager at (405) 525-8822 or visit OKCBeautiful.com/programs/LitterBlitz.
