Junior League plans dog fun

Junior League of Norman will host Paws for Parks at 2 p.m. April 14 at Norman Community Dog Park located at 12th Avenue NE and High Meadows Drive. The event will celebrate the local dog park and pet well-being. Activities, services and contests will be offered. Before the event, Norman residents can upload a picture of their dog to the Paws for Parks event page on The Junior League of Norman's Facebook page. Best small towns named

Los Alamos, N.M., has been named one of America's top 20 “Best Small Towns to Visit in 2013” by Smithsonian Magazine. Los Alamos ranked No. 8.

The Smithsonian Magazine article noted the city's history as the home of the Manhattan Project of World War II and mentioned the city's numerous art fairs, farmer's markets, and annual Next Big Idea Festival. Regionally, Abilene, Kan., Fredericksburg, Texas, and Glenwood Springs, Colo. made the top 20. Film-related camps set

The University of Tulsa has announced summer residential camps in Screenwriting and Filmmaking at the University of Tulsa. The Screenwriting Camp will be July 7-13. The Filmmaking Camp will be July 13-20. Mentors include professor Michael Wright, director of the Interdisciplinary Program in Creative Writing, and Erin McHenry, professional filmmaker and educator. The camp accepts students ranging from incoming high school freshmen through graduating high school seniors.
