Junior League of OKC announces health focus

The Junior League of Oklahoma City announced a health and wellness initiative that marks its new five-year focus.

According to America’s Health Rankings, Oklahoma is ranked 44th in overall health, with 32 percent of adults — a stunning 875,000 citizens — fighting obesity.

“The negative statistics concerning our state’s overall health far outweigh the positive,” said president Kristi Leonard in a news release. “The Junior League of Oklahoma City is an organization that adapts to the demands of time. We understand that there is a great need in our community for health and wellness advocacy, and the Junior League has decided to undertake a five-year focus that will positively impact these conditions. Our membership is enthusiastic to begin contributing to the betterment of our communities’ quality of life.”
