Feed The Children on Thursday cut another tie to its founder, Larry Jones, when he was replaced on the charity’s board.

Directors in November fired Jones as president of the Oklahoma City-based charity. He continued as a charity director, though, until the board had its annual meeting Thursday.

In a news release, the charity said Jones was not re-nominated to be a director. Taking his seat on the board is a longtime executive with The Hertz Corp., Greg Yeilding of Bethany.

The board’s chairman, Rick England, said, "Fortunately, the current leadership of this organization is strong, and the fine work of Feed The Children has continued unfettered. We are all committed to continuing on with and expanding our mission of helping people throughout the world.”

Jones said afterward, "I think today Larry Jones didn’t lose, the children lost, because it’s supposed to be about feeding children.”
