A scheme to get even with an ex-girlfriend landed an Oklahoma City man back in jail and led to the evacuation of the state Capitol, authorities said Tuesday.

Eric Randolph Thompson, 45, had his 18-year-old girlfriend call in a bomb threat on the Governor's Mansion using the name of his ex-girlfriend, according to an affidavit filed in Oklahoma County District Court.

Gov. Mary Fallin was in her office at the Capitol when the threat was made. She ordered the building be evacuated. More than 1,000 people, including 500 schoolchildren, were at the Capitol at the time, officials said.

Whittni Nikole Butts, of Dover, called 911 and made the threat about 10:30 a.m. Friday, about two hours after she bailed Thompson out of the Oklahoma County jail, according to the affidavit. Thompson was being held on complaints of drug possession near a school with intent to distribute, according to jail records.

The caller made bomb threats against the Governor's Mansion, 820 NE 23, and Tuscany Village Nursing Home, 2333 Manchester Drive, where Thompson's ex-girlfriend, Denise King, works, according to the affidavit.
