— Firefighters were called to a blaze at a vacant medical building Friday afternoon.

Thick, black smoke poured from the building as fire crews arrived at the former Mercy Medical Center near the corner of Holly and Vandament.

Authorities said no one was injured. The building has been vacant for about 10 years.

Fire Capt. Caleb McDoulett said the fire started in trees on the south side of the building and quickly spread to the attic.

Fire crews from Bethany and Oklahoma City assisted Yukon firefighters and knocked down the fire quickly, McDoulett said.

He had no estimate of the damage.
