EDMOND — A new three-story project proposed for the northwest corner of Jackson and Campbell was presented this week to the Central Edmond Urban Board.
Turner and Co. proposes to build a 40,000-square-foot building that will have retail space on the first floor and multifamily housing on the second and third floors.
Phillip Morgan, with Bockus Payne Associates Architects, said the original plan was for 42 housing units, but the number is being reduced to allow for more parking on the property just west of the University of Central Oklahoma.
Plans now include 76 parking spaces. Morgan said they may have to ask for a variance on the number of parking spaces because they are four spaces short of what the city code requires.
Morgan and Keith Beatty, of Isch and Associates, presented the plans to the Central Edmond Urban Board for a pre-application discussion. The plans are expected to be presented to the board in January for a recommendation to the city council, where a final decision will be made.
