Showers, thunderstorms likely in Oklahoma City Sunday

Showers and thunderstorms are likely in Oklahoma City until Sunday afternoon, forecasters said.

Skies will be mostly cloudy in Oklahoma City Sunday with a high near 78 and north-northeast wind around 9 mph. There’s a 60 percent chance of precipitation, and meteorologists said most of the storms should move through the area before 1 p.m.

A cold front is expected to move through southwest and south central Oklahoma Sunday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters said there’s a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Sunday night with a low of 60 degrees.

Here’s a look at the Oklahoma City forecast for the rest of the week:

Monday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 79. Northeast wind between 8 and 11 mph.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 58. East southeast wind between 7 and 9 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. South wind 6 to 9 mph increasing to between 15 and 18 mph. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 65.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny and windy, with a high near 88.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 65.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 89.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 66.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 89.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 68.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 89.
