Nearly all 1,300 Konawa residents had running water again Thursday after three days without it, but the city is under a boil order, officials said.

City Manager Rita LoPresto said service returned to most residents Wednesday, though a few remained without running water Thursday. Issues with a well field five miles south of the city led to the stoppage Monday.

Testing of water samples for bacterial contamination will determine when it is safe to lift the boil order, said a spokeswoman with the state Department of Environmental Quality.
