As I type, the first rain of the spring is falling on Oklahoma City, which is a partly cloudy sign that the annual Festival of the Arts is upon us and Strawberries Newport will be on the lips of young and old through Sunday.

Last year, the festival introduced cooking demonstrations to the Culinary Arts offerings. The exhibitions proved successful enough to bring back this year. Our own Sherrel Jones will share her wit and wisdom on the Art of Pie on Thursday at 2 p.m.

For the full schedule of demos, click here.

I’ll be on the premises Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. to check out Food Row. If you see a portly guy with an Indian Taco in one hand and microphone in the other, that’ll probably be me. Stop by and say hi, and let me know what you think of this year’s fare. For a full list of this year’s food vendors, click here.

The festival continues through Sunday.
