BIRMINGHAM, Mich. (AP) — A film that was shot in Michigan and stars Matthew Modine and Kristin Chenoweth will screen this weekend at a theater in Birmingham.

Much of "Family Weekend" was filmed at a home in Macomb County's Harrison Township.

The movie also features Olesya Rulin, Joey King and Shirley Jones. It'll open for a limited engagement starting Friday at the Birmingham 8.

"Family Weekend" was directed by Benjamin Epps, who plans to attend an evening showing on Saturday to talk about the film and answer questions from the audience.

Some suburban Detroit high schools also were used as shooting locations. The Macomb County Film Office assisted the production in securing locations, props and extras for the crowd scenes.
