Dual show
The Untitled ArtSpace gallery, 1 NE 3, is spotlighting two shows that open Friday and will remain on view through Nov. 1. "American Falls,” a video installation by Philip Solomon, is a celebration of the American dream and a lament for where it has gone. Robert Rauschenberg's "Soviet/American Array” explores American identity and uses collage to generate a commentary on this country's culture. An opening reception is planned from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.

New exhibits
LAWTON — Two shows will open Saturday in the Leslie Powell Gallery, 620 SW D Ave. "An Oklahoma Garden” features photographs by Cecil Lee; "RePurpose” is a mixed-media exhibit featuring works by Patricia Morgan. For more information, call (580) 357-9526.

Singers needed
Oklahoma Choral Artists is accepting new members for its 2008-09 season. Community members who sing well and have good music reading skills are invited to join the ensemble. Performances this season include "Brahms & Broadway,” an evening of love song waltzes and Broadway favorites; Family Christmas Festival concerts in Guthrie and Oklahoma City; and Brahms' "A German Requiem.”

SHAWNEE — The Oklahoma Baptist University-Shawnee Community Orchestra is holding open auditions at 7 p.m. Monday in Raley Chapel at OBU. The orchestra, founded in 2001, is conducted by Jim Hansford. Rehearsals begin Sept. 15 and are from 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays in the chapel. For more information, call 878-2307.

Changing the world
The Oklahoma City Theatre Company kicks off its 10th season this month with a production of "Born Yesterday.” Set in a posh Washington, D.C., hotel room in 1946, Garson Kanin's comedy celebrates the power of the individual to change the world while taking swipes at political corruption and the war between the sexes. Performances begin Friday and will continue through Oct. 5. Curtain times are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays with one 2 p.m. matinee Oct. 5.

Clothes make the man
YUKON — The Stage Door Theatre opens its 2008-09 season this month with a production of "The Emperor's New Clothes.” Performances of this classic fable will be at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays through Sept. 21 at the Yukon Museum and Arts Center, 601 Oak.
