Gallery sets sale, exhibit
JRB Art at the Elms, 2810 N Walker, will feature its seventh annual sale of small works by noted artists from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday. More than 100 paintings, sculptures, photographs, ceramics and mixed-media works smaller than 8 inches square are included.

Exhibit to open at In Your Eye
"Two for the Show,” an exhibit of watercolors, pastels, acrylics and abstracts by Bev and Bob Landdeck, opens Friday at the In Your Eye Studio and Gallery, 3005A Paseo. An opening reception is planned from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday. The exhibit will remain on view through Nov. 30.

High school students’ work on view
Oklahoma City University will present its annual "High School Print and Drawing Competition” today through Nov. 13 at the Norick Art Center, NW 26 and Blackwelder. An opening reception is planned from 2 to 5 p.m. today. The annual show features prints, drawings and photographs by Oklahoma high school students.

Hand-sewn photographs on display
Opening Friday at the A.K.A. Gallery, 3001 Paseo, is "Romy Owens: Fear Not the Needle,” a collection of hand-sewn photographs. A reception is planned from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday. The exhibit will remain on view through Nov. 30. For more information, call 606-2522.
Graphic design students show work
EDMOND — "Talking Images,” an exhibit featuring illustrations by two University of Central Oklahoma graphic design students, are on display through Dec. 12 in the Donna Nigh Gallery, on the fourth floor of the University Center.

Chamber music concert planned
The Brightmusic Society of Oklahoma will present a chamber music concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral, 127 NW 7. "Poetry and Passion” will feature performances of Beethoven’s "Trio in B-flat Major, Op. 11,” Chopin’s "Sonata for Cello in G minor, Op. 65” and Brahms’ "Quartet for Piano and Strings in G minor, op. 25.” Featured guest artist is Belgian pianist Daniel Blumenthal. Also performing will be violinist Gregory Lee, violist Royce McLarry, clarinetist Chad Burrow and cellists Jonathan Ruck and Tomasz Zieba.

Singers to perform Schubert, Haydn
The Oklahoma Master Chorale, directed by Nettie Jean Williams, will present Franz Schubert’s "Mass in G” at 7 p.m. Nov. 8 at St. Joseph’s Old Cathedral, 307 NW 4. The New Lyric Quartet will perform Franz Joseph Haydn’s "Quartet No. 40.”

Flute, piano concert is benefit
Music for flute and piano will be featured in concert at 3 p.m. Nov. 8 at Mayflower Congregational Church, 3901 NW 63. Flutist Matthew Haire and pianist Samuel Magrill will perform a suite by John Rutter, a trio of traditional Irish jigs and Francois Borne’s "Fantasie” on themes from Bizet’s opera "Carmen.” Proceeds will benefit the Mayflower Church Organ Project.

Youth ensembles will give concert
The Oklahoma Youth Orchestra and the Harrison Academy Symphonic Winds will open their fall season today with a 3 p.m. concert in Oklahoma City University’s Petree Recital Hall, 2501 N Blackwelder. Under the direction of John Clinton, the Oklahoma Youth Orchestra will perform works by Herold and Bach. Taewook Song and Caleb Mitchum will be the soloists in Cimarosa’s "Concerto in G for Two Flutes and Orchestra.” Matthew Mailman will conduct the Symphonic Winds in music by Vaughan Williams, Latham and Prokofiev.

Lyric offering free performance
Lyric Theatre will present a free performance of "1776 Interactive!” at 11 a.m. Monday at the Mustang Public Library, 1201 N Mustang Road. This musical celebration tells the story of the birth of the Declaration of Independence featuring songs and scenes from the musical "1776.”

Seniors cabaret celebrates music
MOORE — "Oklahoma Seniors Cabaret” is being presented at 8 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Hillsdale Baptist College Arts Theater, 3701 S Interstate 35 Service Road. The cabaret, which features people ages 55 to 86, will celebrate the music of Elvis Presley, Willie Nelson, Jeanette McDonald and Jim Reeves.

‘Suitehearts’ on stage in Cushing
CUSHING — The Cushing Community Theatre, 105 E Broadway, will present "Suitehearts” at 2 p.m. today, 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Nov. 8. William Van Zandt and Jane Miller’s comedy focuses on a newly married couple who discover their honeymoon suite has been double-booked.

Dance
UCO group sets fall concert
EDMOND — The University of Central Oklahoma’s Kaleidoscope Dance Company will present its fall concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday in the Mitchell Hall Theater, 100 N University Drive. The 25-member company will perform an array of dances including ballet, tap, hip-hop, jazz and modern.
Guest artists include r.a.c.e. (radical application of creative energy), Oklahoma’s first professional jazz dance company, and local professional ballroom dancers Shelby and Dadbeh Jafari.

Dance school sets benefit gala
The University of Oklahoma’s School of Dance will present its annual fundraising gala "Once Upon a Dream” beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Colcord Hotel, 15 N Robinson. Following the patron party, guests can enjoy cocktails and dinner at 7:30 p.m. at ArtSpace at Untitled, 1 NE 3. Dancers from Contemporary Dance Oklahoma and Oklahoma Festival Ballet will perform a special production inspired by Leonard Bernstein’s musical "On the Town.”
The production has been choreographed by OU School of Dance alum, former Houston Ballet dancer and professional ballroom dancer Tom Newbie. Also planned is a live auction.
