The Fine Arts Institute of Edmond will host fundraising events to help pay for classes offered to children and adults who want to get better at drawing, painting, performing on stage and sculpting.

“Fundraising is a very important part of what we do so that we can keep our programs and class tuition affordable for all ages and stages,” said Shannon Price, executive director of the Fine Arts Institute.

The 5x5 Art Show and Sale will be held at 5:55 p.m. on May 5. The show will feature artwork from 55 artists from across the state. Each 5x5 canvas will be sold for $55.

The 5k to Monet is scheduled for Aug. 23. This USATF certified race begins and ends at the sculpture of Monet in front of the Fine Arts Institute.

The 1-mile family fun run starts at 8:10 am. The entry fee is $10, or $15 with a shirt. Medals will be awarded to children younger than 12 years old.

The 5k race starts at 8 a.m. The entry fee is $25, or $30 on the day of the race.

The Fine Arts Institute will award medals to the 75 fastest runners after the completion of the race.

Runners can enjoy live music and kids’ activities following the race.

Pets in the Park will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 31. For a $5 entry fee, people can bring drawings, pictures, paintings, sculptures or photographs of their pets to enter in the art contest.

The entry fee also covers eligibility for the pet parade.

Five winners will be chosen from each competition. Each winner will receive a ribbon and a $50 gift card from the Fine Arts Institute.

The event will feature food, live stage performances by theater students, art activities and photos with the pets.
