Summer exhibit

“War and Peace,” an exhibit featuring photographs by Greg Davis and David Mayhew, opens Friday at the Visions in the Paseo Art Gallery, 2924 Paseo. Davis is known for his photographs of serene images while Mayhew captures images of stormy weather. An opening reception is planned from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday. The exhibit will remain on view through July 4.

Looking to the past

and the future

“Pass It On: A Celebration of Leadership” opens Friday with at 6 to 10 p.m. reception at the In Your Eye Gallery, 3005-A Paseo. The exhibit was designed to honor Natalie Friedman's mentor, Suzanne King Randall, and also her mentee, Susan York. The exhibit will remain on view through June 30.

Capitol exhibits

On view through July 8 in the State Capitol of Oklahoma's Governor's Gallery, 2300 N Lincoln, is “Earthen Thoughts,” an exhibit featuring works of clay by Anita Fields. “Generation Next: Chapter 1,” an exhibit on view through July 1 in the East Gallery, features paintings by Desmond Mason. Prints by Julia Ayers are on view through June 24 in the North Gallery.

Showcasing new sculptures

Several new works by sculptor Glenna Goodacre will be on view Friday through June 30 at JRB Art at the Elms, 2810 N Walker. Known as “America's Sculptor,” Goodacre has created a 10-foot bronze of “Spotted Tail” and a three-foot bronze of a young ballet dancer. Also on view are 31 miniature bronze sculptures and 19 bronze portrait reliefs. An opening reception is planned from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday. Goodacre will also attend the Prix de West brunch at 10:30 a.m. on June 10 at JRB Art at the Elms.

June exhibit

Opening Friday at the Paseo Originals Art Gallery, 2920 Paseo, is “Two Roads, One Path,” an exhibit featuring new works by Chris Claussen and Kenneth L. Hoving. Claussen uses oils, acrylics, photography, pigment transfer, concrete and sculpture techniques in his works. Hoving creates bronze sculptures. An opening reception is planned from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday. An artists' lecture is planned at 3 p.m. Saturday. “Two Roads, One Path” will remain on view through June 30.
