Art captured on the run
Artspace at Untitled, 1 NE 3, is presenting “Cell Phones In Summer,” an annual exhibition of photographs and videos taken by cellphones. The exhibit, which features 38 works, will remain on view through Sept. 15. For more information, call 815-9995 or go to www.artspaceatuntitled.org.
On view through July 7 at the Individual Artists of Oklahoma Gallery, 706 W Sheridan, is the 34th annual juried fiber art exhibition. Sponsored by Fiber Artists of Oklahoma, the eclectic show features examples of weaving, art quilting, basketry, felted works, needlework, knitting, crocheting, paper, soft sculpture and other works primarily constructed of fiber. Art with a heart
The Oklahoma Waiting Child Heart Gallery, a traveling exhibition, is on view through July 6 in the Oklahoma State Capitol, 2300 N Lincoln Blvd. Fifty Oklahoma photographers created black and white portraits of some of the hundreds of Oklahoma children awaiting adoption. SHAWNEE — Thanks to funding provided by four organizations, the Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art, 1900 W MacArthur, is waiving admission fees through Aug. 31. In addition to its permanent collections, the museum has two summer exhibits: “Oklahoma Perspectives: Katherine Liontas Warren” which runs through June 24, and “Creatures of the World: Animals in Art” which runs from July 14 until August 26. A Shakespearean classic
Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park's 2012 season opener is “Two Gentlemen of Verona,” a comedy about jealousy and the fickle nature of love.
