HAMMONDSPORT, N.Y. (AP) — The Finger Lakes Boating Museum is set to open at a new location that will feature displays of some of the vessels built in the region over the past century.

The museum opens Saturday in a former Taylor Wine co. building in the village of Hammondsport, on Keuka (KYOO'-kuh) Lake's southern end in Steuben (stoo-BEHN') County.

Last year, the museum vacated its temporary home in Geneva on neighboring Seneca Lake after the organization's partnership with the Ontario County city fell through.

The museum's collection includes more than 100 boats that were built in the Finger Lakes region over the past 100 years. They include canoes, rowboats, inboards and sailboats, among other types of vessels.

Many of the boats were made by a boat manufacturer in nearby Penn Yan between the 1920s and mid-1960s.
