Northwest Oklahoma City house fire may have been arson

Arson investigators are looking into a fire that erupted at a vacant house in northwest Oklahoma City just before noon Saturday. Two adjacent homes suffered heat damage in the blaze, authorities said.

Arson investigators are looking into a fire that burned a vacant house Saturday and singed two others in northwest Oklahoma City.

Early reports were that someone set the fire at 2309 W Lindley just before noon, said Bobby Lax, a battalion chief with the Oklahoma City Fire Department.

Two vagrants who were inside the single-story house escaped uninjured, but the house was a total loss, Lax said.

The vacant house sustained about $20,000 in damage, while the adjacent houses each sustained several thousand dollars in heat damage, Lax said.
