Fire Dancers head to Oregon to battle wildfires

TAHLEQUAH -- As wildfires continue to ravage acreage in northern California, a team of Cherokee Nation Fire Dancers has joined the firefighting effort.



The Delaware County Journal reports that 12 members of the Fire Dancers has been deployed to battle the blazes.

The Oklahoma team was sent to Oregon and will work 16-hour days.
