Fire danger rising in Grand Teton
GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) — Fire managers are raising the fire danger rating to very high for both the Bridger-Teton National Forest and Grand Teton National Park.
Managers say that recent hot temperatures, low humidity and windy conditions have increased the fire danger. They're telling local residents and visitors to exercise caution.
Partial fire restrictions remain in effect on the forest and in the national park. They include limiting campfires to designated areas such as established campgrounds.
The risk of new fires starting is high all across western and central Wyoming.
A red flag warning will go back into effect at noon through 9 p.m. for the region. A weak monsoonal moisture flow is expected to bring strong wind gusts and dry lightning, making it possible for new fires to start and spread.
