Fire battle blaze at northwest Oklahoma City home

Firefighters battled a house fire Sunday afternoon.in northwest Oklahoma City.

Fire Battalion Chief Brian Stanaland said the blaze was reported at a large home at 10607 Flamingo Drive in Oklahoma City about 2:30 p.m.

A dog died in the blaze, which was started by ashes from a charcoal grill that were discarded in a trash can, Battalion Chief Randy Cornelius said.

There was an estimated $150,000 in damage to the house, and possessions with an estimated value of $50,000 were destroyed, Cornelius said.
