Firefighters battling large grass fire west of Tecumseh, at least two homes evacuated

TECUMSEH — Firefighters from multiple departments are fighting a large grass fire west of Tecumseh.

The fire started near 35194 State Highway 9 near Bethel Road, a 911 dispatcher said. At least two homes in the area have been evacuated. No injuries have been reported.


Traffic is being diverted from the area. Officials are urging motorists to detour around the area to allow fire trucks and emergency vehicles easy access.
