First look at 'Star Wars: Episode VII' set in video announcing chance for fans to be in film, help change the world

Calling all "Star Wars" fans, or anyone who wants to help make a difference. A video was released Wednesday of director J.J. Abrams on set explaining a new contest that will award one lucky fan the opportunity to be in the new film.

Calling all "Star Wars" fans — or anyone who wants to appear on the silver screen while helping to make a difference in the world.

In a video released Wednesday, director J.J. Abrams appeared on the set of "Star Wars: Episode VII" explaining a contest that will award one fan the opportunity to be in the new film.

"We're so grateful to all those Star Wars fans out there for their support and their patience," Abrams said in the video, "and we would like to invite you to be a part of the fun, here. We want to put you in the movie, in Star Wars."

In the video, Abrams said that as of Wednesday, fans can enter to win a trip to London to meet Abrams and become a part of the cast. But Abrams then explained that he saved the best for last. Wednesday also marks the launch of a new initiative titled Star Wars: Force for Change, a campaign aimed at building a brighter future for thousands of children and their families around the world.
